English Premier League champions Manchester City and Parade College in Melbourne have today announced the launch of the first Manchester City Football School in Australia.

Utilising the coaching philosophy and methodology of Manchester City, the Manchester City Football School will provide authentic and creative football coaching programs for their students. The Football School, which will be based within Parade College’s Bundoora Campus in Melbourne, will include a Manchester City coach in Melbourne, utilising the first-class facilities of Parade, which includes a FIFA accredited Greenfields MX Elite 50 woven system pitch and state of the art indoor training and conditioning facilities for students.

Enrolments for the Australian first programme are now open. The partnership’s official opening will take place in January 2022 for Parade students and will expand to offer programmes for the wider community later in 2022.

Jorgina Busquets, Managing Director - Football Education & Recreation for City Football Group, commented: “We are delighted to be opening our first Manchester City Football School in Australia with Parade College, who have some of the best facilities and sports programs in the region. We want to contribute to Parade’s ongoing effort of improving the lives of its pupils & community and creating well rounded individuals by bringing Manchester City’s approach and methodology to continue in their path towards football, and educational excellence”.

Andrew Kuppe, Principal of Parade College, expressed his enthusiasm for the new collaboration with Manchester City to launch the first football school of its kind in Australia.

“In 2021, Parade College celebrates 150 years since our foundation. We are rightly proud of our history of excellence in Academia, The Arts, Community Action and Sport,” Mr Kuppe said.

“The desire to bring positive change to communities across the world through football is as strong as ever.

“We know this partnership will inspire a new generation of footballers at Parade and we are especially proud of those young men who have represented our school and forged successful careers in the game.

“Parade College looks forward to Manchester City’s ‘football effect’ promoting health, education and inclusion, to improve the lives of the young people enrolled at Parade.  This exciting partnership with Manchester City is a further reminder that in celebrating 150 years, Parade College’s best years are ahead of us,” Kuppe said.
