Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne and Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw are in contention for 2022/23 PFA Vertu Motors Fans' Player of the Year awards.

The trio’s exploits across the campaign have seen them placed on the six-person shortlist for the Premier League and Barclays Women’s Super League respectively.

Haaland has notched a record 36 league goals in just 33 appearances – breaking a 29-year record for the most strikes across a Premier League campaign.

On average, the Norwegian has found the net every 74 minutes in the league, so far scoring against 17 of our 19 Premier League opponents in the process.

City’s number nine has already claimed the 2023 Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year award, earning more than 80% of the vote in the process.

He’s joined by team-mate Kevin De Bruyne, who leads the Premier League assist charts with an impressive 16 in 30 appearances.

The Belgian who, among other awards, was named both Etihad Player of the Season and Premier League Player of the Season, has once again been at the centre of City’s title charge in 2022/23.

Indeed, the midfielder has particularly hit his stride at the business end of the league campaign, grabbing five assists in as many matches since early April, as well as a further three goals.

Haaland and De Bruyne face competition from Arsenal pair Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard, Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford and Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.

Shaw, meanwhile, has grabbed 18 goals in just 20 league appearances, being named WSL Player of the Month in November and March.

And with two matches still to play, the Jamaican is just one goal shy of Nikita Parris’ record for the most WSL goals in a single season for the Club.

In March, her brace against Brighton also saw her become the highest-scoring women’s player across a single campaign in all competitions, with her current tally standing at 29 in 28 matches.

The Jamaican faces competition from Arsenal’s Frida Maanum, Aston Villa forward Rachel Daly, Chelsea’s Sam Kerr and Manchester United duo Mary Earps and Ona Batlle.
