Between 22 and 30 October, the Premier League is holding its annual Rainbow Laces campaign celebrating that football is everyone's game.

And as part of our Rainbow Laces celebrations, the Club has donated a pride flag to the National Football Museum to feature in its latest exhibition on inclusion in football.

The flag has been signed by players across the Men’s and Women’s 2021/22 squads as well as the Elite Development Squad as a sign of our support.

For the past few seasons, the flag has been hung outside the Etihad Stadium during the city’s annual Manchester Pride Weekend, but was retired this year when the club adopted the updated version that includes representation for members of the intersex community.

As a result, John Stones presented the flag on behalf of the Club to representatives from the National Football Museum last week. He was joined by City Matter’s LGBTQ+ Representative, Fran Lever, MCWFC Official Supporters Club’s Chair, Sarah Bland, as well as Canal St Blues’ Chairman Dave Alvarado.

The flag now sits proudly in The National Football Museum’s Crossing The Line: Game On exhibition which opened on Monday 17th October 2022.

Game On, tells the story of women’s football in today’s day and age. From grassroots to the professional game, and the impact of the Lionesses’ recent European glory. For more information, visit www.nationalfootballmuseum.com

During this year’s campaign, the Club’s charitable division, City in the Community, has been gifting Rainbow Laces to participants in their sessions.

Meanwhile, Saturday’s match against Brighton saw Kevin De Bruyne wear a Rainbow-themed armband.
