City's men's and women's sides are in excellent form.

Both Pep Guardiola and Gareth Taylor have led their teams to seven successive wins across all competitions.

Guardiola‘s men have been successful in all of our matches since the 16 December draw with Crystal Palace, including three victories in the Premier League, two in the FIFA Club World Cup and two in the FA Cup.

That run began with the Club World Cup success in Saudi Arabia against Urawa Red Diamonds and Fluminense before those Premier League wins on the road at Everton and Newcastle United and at home against Sheffield United.

Our FA Cup encounters with Huddersfield Town and Tottenham Hotspur have seen us safely into the fifth round of the competition.

The Treble winners and Champions of the World now sit in second in the Premier League, breathing down Liverpool’s neck, while we await the return of the Champions League next month.

Meanwhile, we’ve won five Barclays Women’s Super League games and one each in the Continental Cup and FA Cup.

That run is bookended with league victories over Spurs - a 7-0 home success in November and Sunday’s 2-0 win on Sunday.

There were also key WSL defeats of Aston Villa, Everton and Liverpool amidst cup wins against Durham and Manchester United.

Sitting in second, just three points off leaders Chelsea, we’re set for a tilt at the title in the remaining weeks of the campaign.

Here we’ll run through the stats that stand out from those excellent spells for both teams...

Goals scored

Taylor’s side have outscored Guardiola‘s squad, with the women hitting 26 goals in the last seven games compared to 21 for the men.

The 7-0 hammering of Tottenham Hotspur and 5-1 beating of Liverpool are crucial to that tally, as are the four goal hauls at Durham and Everton.

Our highest total in a men’s game during this run is the five we hit against Huddersfield but we have also managed four against Fluminense and three against Urawa Red Diamonds, Everton and Newcastle.

Julian Alvarez has scored five times on that run, making him the men’s leading scorer while Phil Foden has hit four and Bernardo Silva three.

However, none of those come close to Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw. The Jamaican has found the net 10 times, including hat-tricks against Spurs, Everton and Liverpool.

Our strikers remain top of this season’s scoring charts in both the Premier League and WSL.

Erling Haaland shares the lead with Mo Salah on 14, despite having not played since early December. Shaw is out clear on her own with 13 goals in 11 appearances, one ahead of Chelsea’s Lauren James.

Goals conceded

Both sides have been imperious in defence on the whole, with the men conceding just three goals in our last seven games and the women letting in four during the same period.

That has included five clean sheets for the men’s team and three for our women’s side.

Khiara Keating has been between the sticks for every match across the WSL, Continental Cup and FA Cup while Ederson has started five times for the men.

Stefan Ortega Moreno played the other two matches and the rest of the Newcastle game from which Ederson had to be withdrawn.

Shots

The men have had an incredible 144 shots in the last seven games, averaging more than 20.5 per game.

Our 3-2 comeback victory at Newcastle United was the game in which we had the most shots - taking aim at Martin Dubravka’s goal 27 times.

The women have fired at goal 124 times, meaning we have averaged a goal every 4.7 shots during this dominant run.

Passes

Our men’s team continue to set the standard in terms of dominating possession, completing 5,009 passes in our last seven games.

We surpassed 900 twice - successfully playing 938 against Sheffield United and 911 versus Huddersfield Town.

Our total against Sheffield United is the second-most on record in a Premier League game (since 2003-04), behind our own record of 942 against Swansea City in April 2018.

Gareth Taylor‘s side can be a little more direct but we have still enjoyed the lion’s share of possession, playing 3,765 passes in our last seven games.
