City in the Community (CITC) have launched a new fundraising pack.

City in the Community will launch its first ever fundraising pack for fans at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday when Manchester City take on Burnley. Designed to support fans on their fundraising journey, the free downloadable materials will help those wanting to plan activities and events to raise money for the Club’s official Foundation.

For more than three decades, City in the Community has been empowering the lives local people through football and will deliver in excess of 50,000 health, education and inclusion sessions across Greater Manchester this season.

Whether fans have a passion for baking, are planning to run a marathon, or need some inspiration, the new fundraising pack is filled with tips, advice and ideas to support them from start to finish.

A range of community programmes and initiatives will be showcased at City Square, Etihad Stadium, ahead of the match so that fans can see first-hand the important contribution their fundraising efforts will make to the continued work of the foundation in Manchester.

Saturday’s game will also see the announcement of City in the Community’s biggest fundraising event of the season. Dr Max Sala, Head of Sports Medicine at Manchester City, will be taking on the Race Across America, a 3,000-mile cycling challenge, with all money raised going towards the foundation’s ‘One City’ disability programme, which provides high quality inclusive football sessions for juniors and adults with a wide range of disabilities every week.

Max’s fundraising will allow City in the Community to develop its existing provision for impairment specific teams and increase opportunities to attend regular sessions, compete in organised fixtures and tournaments, as well as create pathways for talented players into elite level disability football.

Speaking ahead of Saturday’s game Mike Green, Head of City in the Community, said:

“We’re incredibly proud that over the last 30 years City in the Community has been able to use the power of football to make a genuine difference to the lives of people in Manchester. This season, with the launch of our new fundraising pack, the continued support of our fans, and Max Sala’s incredible challenge in the Race Across America, we hope to develop and expand our programmes so that we can reach more people than ever before.”
