Throughout the season, City in the Community will deliver Unified Sports in primary and high schools across Manchester to bring young people together through the power of sport.

Unified Sports tournaments have been designed to allow young people with disabilities to play alongside able-bodied peers with the aim of breaking down barriers and social perceptions.

So far, the foundation has supported a Unified Basketball and Tennis tournament which saw groups of youngsters go head to head in fun adapted games.

Following its success and with the support of the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation UK, plans are already underway to host rugby, cricket and multi sports festivals in coming months.

City in the Community are delighted to be supporting these festivals alongside the foundation’s One City Disability programme, which is now home to ten impairment specific teams.

If you know any young people who would like to attend any of City in the Community’s One City sessions or require further information on the Unified Sports tournaments, please don’t hesitate to contact CITC’s Disability Officer, Paul Kelly at paul.kelly2@cityfootball.com
