Goals from Dire Mebude, Carlos Borges, Will Dickson, Josh Adam and an own-goal from Elijah Campbell secured a thumping win for our EDS, who went five clear at the top of the Premier League 2 table.
The win also avenges the defeat Everton inflicted on us earlier in the season when they came out on top in a 6-3 goal-fest at Finch Farm.
That was the last defeat inflicted on us, as we extended our unbeaten run to eight games.
And Barry-Murphy has been delighted with how far the players have come since that defeat in October.
He said: “For me, the previous game at Everton was an extreme test of our young players.
“It was probably one of the few performances this season we got away feeling a little bit empty in terms of our how we performed physically.
“To turn that on its head and ultimately get the scoring that we wanted is very satisfying for the players and continues the momentum of how they have been performing.”
Barry-Murphy was also pleased with the overall approach of the team against the Toffees.
“We have to be very respectful of who we are playing against and understand the different challenges that teams are going to provide us”, he said.
“No game is ever the same or straightforward.
“Our process was good in terms of how we played and our style was good and eventually in the second half we got our rewards for our play.”
The EDS will be back in action on Tuesday night when we take on Hadjuk Split in the UEFA Youth League.
