And now, further details of each fixture have been released.
Our young blues will begin our Vertu Trophy run-in with a trip to Mansfield Town on Tuesday 18 August, with kick-off set for 19:00 (UK).
Then, our second group game will see us travel to Chesterfield on Tuesday 15 September with a 19:00 (UK) kick-off.
And our final group game away to Port Vale will begin at 19:00 (UK) on Tuesday 27 October.
In 2025/26, Mansfield Town placed fourth in Group F, Chesterfield were dismissed in the Round of 32 and exited the competition after a quarter-final defeat to Stockport County.
City’s appearance in the competition last term saw us earn an emphatic 5-1 victory against Oldham before defeats to Bolton and Rotherham saw us place third in Group E.
