Enzo Maresca says Antoine Semenyo is the only player unavailable for Saturday’s Premier League clash with Brighton.

The boss confirmed that the winger is set to be out for a few more weeks after suffering an injury in our win over Ipswich earlier this month.

Maresca made nine changes to his starting line-up for our  Carabao Cup fourth round victory over Brighton on Wednesday night.

First-team players including Erling Haaland, Joško Gvardiol, Rúben Dias, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Elliot Anderson were not part of the squad for the penalty shootout win over the Seagulls.

And with the same team coming to the Etihad Stadium for the 15:00 (UK) kick-off, Maresca confirmed that the rest of his squad is available.

“They are all available,” he said at his press conference “[Apart from] Antoine Semenyo, the rest are all available.”

On Semenyo’s recuperation, he added: “He’s good. He’s in a good mood.

“He’s in the building making the recovery sessions and the therapy that he needs but it’s too early for now.”

It’s the latest fixture in a busy schedule for the Blues, with tough trips to RB Leipzig in the Champions League and Nottingham Forest in the Premier League to follow.

Maresca says he is not looking to far ahead in terms of managing the squad.

“I’m thinking about tomorrow,” he said. “Just game by game.

“In one week three games [but] we already played many games.

“The main thing now is just to focus on tomorrow. That’s the only way to manage the amount of games we need to play.”

Brighton boss Fabian Hürzeler, meanwhile, says he wants revenge for the League Cup defeat and says the best way to do that is to get a win at the Etihad Stadium.

His side have made an excellent start to the season and are currently third in the Premier League table and Maresca is expecting another difficult test.

“It’s going to be a tough game in the way they play against any team no matter if it’s in different competition or other teams,” the Italian added.

“They always try to be front foot, same style, they attack with many players, they create many chances, score many goals.

“But again we will try to do our best and win the game.”
