Though the result meant the hosts checked our perfect start to the campaign, there were still positives aplenty for Ben Wilkinson’s side who carved out a host of chances at Finch Farm.
We hit the bar through a first half Charlie Gray header and found Everton keeper George Pickford in inspired form.
What happened
Buoyed by a superb start to the campaign, Ben Wilkinson’s side made the short trip up the M62 to Finch Farm full of confidence.
We were also seeking to follow up a 2-1 Under-18 Premier League Cup triumph away to the same opponents which we registered last month.
And it was City who took the game to the hosts from the off, dominating both territory and possession.
It was an impressive opening 45 minutes from the visitors with City twice unlucky not to make the breakthrough.
First, Charlie Gray saw a superb header rebound back off the crossbar before Everton were then indebted to keeper George Pickford who produced a fine save from close range to deny Farid Alfa-Ruprecht.
City kept up the pressure after the break as we sought to maintain our 100 per cent start to the season.
But despite several promising opportunities in a second half that feature 15 added minutes, the hosts kept us at bay with the points ultimately shared.

Spike Brits was in goal shielded by a back four of Ezra Carrington, Jahmai Simpson-Pusey, Kian Noble and Seb Naylor. Charlie Gray, Farid Alfa-Ruprecht and Michael Okeke were in the engine room with Matty Warhurst, Alfie Harrison and Ashton Muir our attacking trio.

What it means
The draw sees City remain in second spot in the Under-18 Premier League North table.
We have 13 points from five games with Manchester United leading the way with 15 from five.
What’s next
With the international break now upcoming the City youngsters have a two week break before we return to action in the Under 18 Premier League Cup.
Ben Wilkinson’s side will play host to Peterborough in our second group game at the CFA on Saturday, October 21.
Kick-off is slated for 13.00pm (UK) with City seeking to build on our opening 2-1 group win at Everton.
