Joel Ndala put us ahead before two goals in five minutes from Liverpool turned the game around as Louie Koumas and Trent Kone-Doherty tapped in to lead at the interval.
Koumas cemented the host’s lead as he scored his second of the game, but City came back with two goals to see the match go level again through Justin Oboawvoduo and Jaden Heskey.
In the remaining 10 minutes, Matty Whittingham tapped in at the back post to seal City’s comeback and a second win in the league.

WHAT HAPPENED
As City got preceding underway on a sunny Merseyside morning, both teams brought the energy that this fixture holds, with both teams carving out chances in the early stages.
Ben Doak managed to cut the ball inside Tom Galvez, before shooting straight at George Murray-Jones and down at the other end Justin Oboavwoduo sliced a volley over the crossbar.
But after some fine wing play by Ashton Muir down the left, it was City who took advantage, as the winger sent a pinpoint cross into Joel Ndala who was at the right place at the right time to score his fourth goal of the league season.
Our Young Charges were then on the front foot, as the inspired Ndala nearly doubled our lead if not for a block by Niall Osbourne to deny him.
Despite our pressure, it was Liverpool who equalised after Louie Koumas reacted well to a stunning save from City’s shot stopper to tap in.
The hosts made their pressure count as just five minutes later, Koumas pressed Murray-Jones and Trent Kone-Doherty scored into an empty net to put The Reds ahead at half time.
It didn’t get much better for Ben Wilkinson’s side after the break, as Doak managed to trick his way past Galvez and his cross reached Koumas who converted to give us more work to do in the second half.
We reacted well to this setback, as Muir drove into the box and his shot was well saved by Fabian Mrozek.
Not long after it, Matty Whittingham swung in a teasing cross which was bundled into the net by Justin Oboavwoduo to get us back into the fixture.
As we kept penetrating The Reds goal, Mrozek’s resolve was finally beaten for a third time, as a blocked shot fell to Jaden Heskey, who smashed in to equalise.
With 10 minutes remaining, City were pushing for the winner, as Oboawvoduo crossed low to the back post, Whittingham was there to tap in and complete the comeback as we walked away from Merseyside with a big three points.

Ben Wilkinson stuck with George Murray-Jones between the sticks with a back four of Michael Okeke, Max Alleyne, Kian Noble and Sebastian Naylor protecting him.
Jacob Wright played in a deep lying playmaker role with Nico O’Reilly and Matty Whittingham playing further ahead to make up the midfield trio.
Justin Oboavwoduo started up front, with Joel Ndala and Ashton Muir supporting him on the flanks.
