Ben Wilkinson’s side have guaranteed our place atop the 13-team division with a game to spare after a 4-2 victory over nearest challengers Sunderland on Saturday.
The title comes on the back of an incredible run of 12 consecutive victories since the turn of the year.
The success books a place in the national final against West Ham United, the winners of the southern section. Further details of that match will be confirmed in due course.
In the last two campaigns, we have defeated Fulham and Southampton to earn the national crown.
We also won the national title on a points-per-game basis in 2019/20 when the season was cancelled due to COVID before the end of the regional stage.
We currently have 57 points from 23 games this year, with Sunderland now on 53.
This year’s triumph extends City’s dominance of the north group to six titles in the last eight years and marks Wilkinson’s second title in his two years in the role.
The Blues have been imperious all season, winning 18 of our 23 games so far and scoring a league-high 81 goals.
We also boast the best defence in the country, having conceded only 21 goals so far with 10 clean sheets on the way.
With our Elite Development Squad looking to seal a third successive Premier League 2 title, 2022/23 looks set to be yet another remarkable campaign for the Club’s Academy.
Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola’s first team are competing for trophies in three major competitions this season. As well as progression in the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup, we will be looking to make it a hat-trick of titles at Premier League level.
Everyone at Manchester City congratulates Ben, the Under-18 squad and staff on another fantastic season.
