It’s the battle for Group C top spot at the City Football Academy Stadium on Monday night.

City and Leicester boast 100% records from their two Premier League International Cup fixtures to date but that has to change when they do battle under the lights.

Both teams have already qualified for the knockout stages in this tournament’s inaugural season with six points from two games following victories over Schalke and Benfica.

A draw would be enough to confirm top spot for Patrick Vieira’s side on goal difference after they dispatched Benfica 3-1 and swept Schalke aside 5-1 in the grand opening of the Academy Stadium.

However, they face a Leicester side who inflicted a heavy defeat on them in the Barclays u21 Premier League earlier this season.

An experienced Foxes outfit hit City for six in October, running out 6-2 winners at the King Power Stadium to consign the visitors to their second league defeat of the campaign.

McCourt, Lawrence, Dodoo, Kennedy and Hopper scored the goals for Leicester on that occasion, with Thierry Ambrose and Sinan Bytyqi offering up a pair of consolation strikes.

City will be hoping to get back to winning ways on Monday night after their fourth league loss of the season - a narrow 1-0 loss to Sunderland last Monday which left them fifth in the table.

Kick-off is at 7pm - we’ll have live goal updates on Twitter, as well as a match report here on mcfc.co.uk at full-time.
