Many of City’s young stars are currently on international duty, with the likes of Brahim Diaz, Lukas Nmecha and Isaac Buckley-Ricketts competing in qualifiers for the U19 European Championships.
City still have three matches to play in this season’s Premier League 2, with the next coming against Derby on Friday 7 April, and Davies is keen to ensure his players are fully prepared for the clash.
He said: “We have a couple of weeks without a match now due to the international break. It’s a really important period for the players who will be going away with their countries because that’s a great experience.
“It’s difficult to do too much work tactically while missing so many players but we’ll ensure they keep working hard to be as fit and ready as possible for when the Derby match comes around.”

City’s draw at Arsenal earlier this month meant they sit five points behind leaders Everton with only nine to play for and while Davies isn’t giving up the title, he insists his side can still have a successful season without silverware.
“It’s good to have the challenge at the top of the table to give some context to the end of the season. It’s about developing these players to be ready for professional careers but the chance to win titles is always something nice for players.”
