Paul Harsley‘s side found themselves a goal down to league leaders Everton after just two minutes, but a first-half turnaround followed by a second-half battle saw City EDS take all three points.
Goals from Eric Garcia, Adrian Bernabe, Ian Carlo Poveda-Ocampo and finally Frimpong secured the win, with the match winner hailing his teammates and fans post-match.

“That was a hard game!” Frimpong claimed. “We needed to win that, if we didn’t win we’d be near the relegation zone so we had to give it our all and we did.
“I played well, and I want to thank the team that they did too, it was so hard but we got the three points and we’ll look to carry that on.”
Frimpong played in a more advanced role than usual today, and reaped the rewards of doing so in the 78th minute when his effort proved too powerful for the Everton ‘keeper.
“I enjoyed that goal!” he smiled. “I’m a fullback, I don’t really score often, so when I did I felt it, and the fans had been cheering me on so I needed to run over and thank them!”
A lot of City’s attacking play came from the right flank, where Frimpong was up against the Toffees’ experienced fullback Brendan Galloway.
The City man enjoyed the personal duel.
“I know I’m fast so I’m happy for my team to put the ball in behind, but it means I’m up and down all day.” he explained.
“Their left back was up and down too so I had to track him, we always knew they were going to be good, but we were the better team today.
“I should be expecting that [challenge against Galloway], I’m ready for it and he’s a good player. He made me work really hard, so that was good too.”
Frimpong’s manager, Paul Harsley was delighted with the youngster’s performance, and the team as a whole.
“I think we knew the sort of challenge we’d get today against Everton,” said Harsley. “They’re top of the league and very competitive in everything they do.
“They have quite a lot of older lads than we have, although we had Eliaquim Mangala and Phil today we’re still mostly younger than they are.
“I think he [Frimpong] gave him [Galloway] a great game. He caused him loads of problems with his pace.
“We said before the game that theres no one as quick as Jeremie, and he caused someone with good experience and who’s several years older than him quite a lot of problems, so I was pleased he got his goal in the end.
“We’re never going to change, if we play more direct we play into their hands. We have a style of play and we stick to it, we want to be the best version of Manchester City we can be, and I thought today at times we were.”
