Goals from Emyr Huws, John Guidetti and Denis Suarez ensured that City took all three points in their final league game of the season to cap an impressive week.
A pigeon also attempted a pitch invasion on a bright afternoon at Ewen Fields, forcing young Ivorian Abdul Razak to pick it up and escort the bird back to the stands.
The only concern for City was the substitution of star striker Guidetti who was forced to withdraw after an hour.
The young Blues booked their place in the Lancashire Senior Cup semi-final last week, and followed that up with a morale-boosting win away at Stoke in the league courtesy of a Suarez brace.
With Jose Angel Pozo still ruled out through injury, Lombardo made three changes for this home league encounter.
Guidetti, Razak and Olivier Ntcham returned to the starting line-up, while the defence had a familiar feel – the same back five returning for their third consecutive game.
The in-form Huws also kept his place in the centre of the park together with Seko Fofana, who impressed in the recent defeat to Bolton.
For Norwich, first team stopper John Ruddy was the man for City to beat between the posts as he continues his return from a thigh injury.
The Blues rose to the challenge and ran rampant in a one-sided first half, scoring all three goals and creating opportunities for more.
Lombardo’s side were quick to gain control of possession and Guidetti created an early chance for Fofana, but the midfielder fired straight at Ruddy.
It was captain Huws who ensured that dominance counted on the scoresheet, heading home a Suarez corner after 22 minutes.
Guidetti doubled the lead five minutes later, gleefully smacking the ball into the back of the net after a poor clearance by the Canaries defender.
Spain U20 international Suarez has been in dazzling form lately, so it was perhaps no surprise that it was him who topped off a one-sided opening period with City’s third – firing past Ruddy after exchanging passes with Guidetti five minutes before the break.
Both teams emerged unchanged for a slightly less action-packed second half, with Guidetti’s powerful effort after 54 minutes the first genuine opportunity.
Just before the hour mark, Norwich seized their chance to test City nerves – Kelly chipping the ball over Lawlor to give the visitors hope.
The young Irish keeper was called into action again to prevent a second Canaries goal, pulling off a top save at full stretch from a free kick.
But City never looked in danger of allowing a Norwich comeback, and a calm and composed finish ensured the home side scooped all three points as they seek to end the season strongly.
The Blues are back in Manchester Senior Cup action on Monday evening when they take on Oldham Athletic.
