City threesome Joe Hart, Gareth Barry and Carlos Tevez along with David Platt and Brian Kidd were part of an 80 strong group who took part in the event at Mottram Hall in Chesire.
Former Blues goalkeeper Shay Given and ex-footballers Neil Mellor and Dwight Yorke also took to the greens to support Milner’s charity which was launched last year.
“We’re delighted to have hosted our first foundation golf day, raising money for the NSPCC, Help for Heroes and Leukaemia and Lymphoma research,” said James.
“I’ve been involved with the NSPCC for years now and the charity does some amazing work which can help change lives.
“Help for Heroes is another great charity. Sometimes we’re described as heroes, but they are the real ones putting their lives on the line every day to make the world a better place.
“So many people are also affected by Leukaemia and Lymphoma including my friend Stiliyan Petrov, so when he was diagnosed we added this to our list of beneficiaries.
“There was a great turnout and we had great support from so many people including some of my teammates. It was a great day and we really appreciate everyone’s help.”
Also showing their support for a great cause were England cricketers Jimmy Anderson and Steve Harmison as well as various celebrities from the world of entertainment.
