The EDS midfielder will remain at the Alexandra Stadium until 3 February 2014.
Alex boss, Steve Davis, told the club’s website: “George was eager to get out and play some games. He is a determined and ambitious young man and very mature for his age. He has had a good grounding from his family and from being at Manchester City for a long time and you see how driven he is.
“He is a good player. We have watched him for the Under-21s and I’ve spoken to three members of the City staff about him and what he can offer us. He is a good size, competes and is technically good on the ball.”

One player hoping to make a difference is Alex Henshall, who has joined struggling Bristol Rovers in League Two.
After making his debut just days after agreeing to the switch, Alex was on the scoresheet last week in his second game for the side.
A ball from the left wing fooled the goalkeeper completely and ended up in the back of the net to give Rovers the lead against Accrington Stanley, but unfortunately they went on to lose 2-1.
Alex was an unused sub for the Pirates’ stalemate with Chesterfield at the weekend.
In Norway, Abdi Ibrahim played the first half of a crucial win at home to Start. Unfortunately, the youngster was forced to withdraw after a clash with an opponent’s elbow. Title rivals Rosenborg lost at the weekend, leaving Stromsgodset three points clear at the top of the Eliteserien with just two games to go.

Meanwhile, Gareth Barry continues to enjoy success with Everton, turning in another 90 minutes in their 2-0 win over Aston Villa. The Toffees are currently fourth in the Premier League table.
In the Championship, Reece Wabara is a regular starter for Paul Dickov’s Doncaster and chalked up another full game against Middlesbrough at the weekend. Life in the division can be tough, as Reece will have discovered after going down 4-0 to the Teessiders.
EDS striker Harry Bunn took part in the u21 Premier League Cup for Sheffield United in their clash with Birmingham City. Unfortunately, the Blades were knocked out of the competition thanks to a 3-2 defeat, but Bunn set up a good chance for a teammate as well as having the chance to score himself.
Scott Sinclair missed West Brom’s 4-1 defeat at the hands of Liverpool as he continues his spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.
Before the game, his manager Steve Clarke said: “Scott won’t make Saturday, he’s progressing well but as it’s a muscle injury we’re just being a little bit careful.”
There was more bad news on the injury front for George Swan, who has broken his leg. Hopefully he can make a swift recovery and get back on the pitch soon.
