John Guidetti’s Potteries stay has not been as fruitful as the Swedish striker may have hoped and he failed to even make the bench as Stoke drew 1-1 with Cardiff.
Local paper The Sentinel reported: “John Guidetti, who made the last of his six substitute appearances at the end of March, drifted even further out of the reckoning after failing to make the bench in order to accommodate Assaidi.
“Boss Mark Hughes explained: ‘It was a tough call. I just wanted Ossie there and Jon Walters as well.
‘It’s unfortunate John missed out and it has been difficult for him, but he will get opportunities in the last three games, I hope.’”
Wrapping up our loaned Premier League stars, Scott Sinclair was not eligible to face City as West Brom were beaten 3-1 at the Etihad on Monday evening.
George Evans was left out of Crewe’s Easter matches during which The Railwaymen beat Shrewsbury 3-1 and drew 0-0 with Colchester to just keep their noses out of the bottom four in League One.
Liam Nolan has got the nod in midfield ahead of Evans who wasn’t on the bench for either game.
Karim Rekik’s PSV weren’t in action in the Dutch Eredivisie and there was no game for Eirik Holmen Johansen, currently on loan with Norwegian side Sandefjord.
Finally, Alex Henshall was again not involved in either of Ipswich Town’s Easter matches during which the Tractor Boys lost 3-1 to Watford and drew 2-2 with Bournemouth.
