Alvaro Negredo has joined Valencia on a season-long deal.

The former Sevilla striker, currently out of action with a broken foot, joined City last summer and was an instant hit with supporters.

Nicknamed ‘The Beast’, Negredo forged a lethal partnership with Sergio Aguero and went into the New Year as the top scorer having already bagged 23 goals.

He seemed set to comfortably pass the 30-goals mark before a shoulder injury sustained in a 3-1 Capital One Cup victory at West Ham last January ruled him out for several weeks and he was never able to rediscover his scoring touch in the months that remained of the 2013/14 campaign.

His dip in form saw him surprisingly left out of the Spain World Cup squad as well, though he reaffirmed his commitment to the champions during the summer before injuring himself in a pre-season friendly with Hearts.

In total, Negredo played on 49 occasions for City, scoring 23 goals, two of which were hat-tricks.

La Liga side Valencia have an obligation to purchase the Spain international at the end of the loan period and everybody at Manchester City wishes Alavaro every success in the future.
