Defeats to Spurs and Stoke, as well as goalless stalemates at Villa Park and Old Trafford, have stopped the Belgian’s side from taking control of one of the most unpredictable Premier League campaigns in living memory.
However, De Bruyne is not panicking about the team’s inconsistent performances on the road and is targeting three points in North London to kick-start City’s season.
Kevin said: “We know that it’s difficult in the Premier League to play away games but obviously our last few games weren’t too good away.
“We need to improve and maybe the Arsenal game can be a turning point.
“It will be a good game because they are a really good team with a lot of possession on the ball so maybe we can be dangerous there.
“The most important thing is to get a run of winning games.
“If we can win these two [v Arsenal and Leicester] it will mean a great deal but then we have to win another three of four games in a row to put together a little run and then it’s really difficult for others when they drop points.
“Arsenal are doing well. They reached the Champions League last 16 and are second in the league so they are doing fine as a team. They’ve also had a lot of injuries like us but they have a lot of quality and it’s going to be a tough game over there.”
The 24-year old De Bruyne has made a flying start to his City career, scoring nine goals and making nine assists in his first 21 appearances.
He has dealt with the pressure that came his way when he moved from Wolfsburg and now Kevin is determined to end the season with silverware.
“It’s been good for me, I’m happy,” De Bruyne declared.
“I’ve played a lot of games already and in my personal life everything is going fine so I couldn’t be more pleased.
“I came here as a big transfer and there was some pressure but football is what I have always played so it remains the same, just with a different team and different teammates.
“I just need to try to perform at the best level I can. Sometimes I’ll be up there and other times it will be more difficult but I’m trying to do my best to help the team to get some titles.”
City are likely to be boosted in their attempts to claim a first away league win since 12 September by the return of Sergio Aguero.
Manuel Pellegrini confirmed in his Friday press conference that the Argentine ace is back on the squad list following the heel injury which kept him out of the last four games.
Kevin added: “I think Sergio is a quiet guy. He doesn’t say a lot but obviously when he has a good day he can do whatever he wants as a striker.
“That helps us quite a lot but I think that now we have to get him into shape so that he can perform really well in our next games.”
