Sergio Aguero, currently representing Argentina at the Copa America in Chile, has said that he expects City to bring in “some of the world’s best players” in this transfer window.
“Each summer, City will add some of the best players in the world to the team,” said the 27-year-old. “That is the way of the clubs who want to win titles.
“I’m sure that this summer will be the same.”
A whole host of names have been linked with City in recent weeks, including Paul Pogba, Kevin de Bruyne and Raheem Sterling but one player Kun has ruled out of a switch to the Etihad Stadium is Lionel Messi.
There had been whispers of a bid in January but Sergio doesn’t expect one of his best friends to ever leave the newly-crowned European champions.
Sergio stated: “I would have loved City to sign Leo - he is my good friend and the best in the world, but his loyalty is so firm to Barcelona and you have to respect that.”
Aguero has been repeatedly linked with a move away from City ever since he arrived from Atletico Madrid in 2011, despite numerous statements from him ruling out a move away.
The striker has once again moved to pour water on any suggestion he could leave for Real Madrid, outlining his intentions to stay and to try to win the UEFA Champions League with the club.
“The only reason a player should leave a club is to achieve things, and I can achieve all I want to at City,” he said.
“I can’t stop rumours. I can’t stop people writing things.
“But what I can do is repeat what I have already said, and that is that I’m very happy at Manchester City.
“I have had success over the last four seasons there and I’m hungry for a lot more.
“Of course the Premier League is a big priority and we want to win it back, but it is a big dream to win the Champions League at City as well.”

Sergio is also in contention to be on the cover of the new FIFA 16 game in Europe and Latin America.
