Real eased to victory over Getafe on the day after the draw was made, winning 5-1. The goals were spread around, with Karim Benzema, Isco, Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez & Cristiano Ronaldo all getting in on the act.
Bale & Benzema were rested for the second 45 with one eye on Wednesday’s meeting with Villarreal. Real are third in La Liga, behind Barcelona and fellow Champions League semi-finalists Atletico Madrid, with the top separated only by goal difference.

Real visited City in a group stage match in November 2012, taking an early lead through Benzema. City clawed their way back in thanks to a penalty from ex-Atletico man Sergio Aguero to earn a point from the 1-1 draw.
