I have to be honest and say that this will be a very difficult game for City.
I think the Blues are not playing very well at the moment whereas PSG have already won their league in France in a canter. They are focusing now on the Champions League without the pressure of having to win league matches as well so they can rest players ahead of the quarter-final and I think they will have a 100% fit and ready team.
City have quite a few important injuries with Kompany, Sterling and possibly Hart out so I think PSG will start as favourites to go through.
The key for me is the first leg in Paris. If PSG win by two goals or more and City don’t score, I think it will be very difficult to recover from that position in the second leg.
I think City have to score in Paris and keep it as tight as possible, but they are a very strong team, especially at home.
I live very close to Parc de Princes so I watch PSG often and was there against Nice last Saturday.
They have won so many games this season and won the league easily so they don’t know what it’s like to lose or not dominate a game. If City can use the possession they have well, it might make a difference over the two legs, but PSG are a better and more confident side than the team that reached the quarter-finals last season.
I think if Di Maria, Lucas and Ibrahimovic are at their best, it will be very difficult and it will be hard to stop them. City must keep the ball and use possession really well with quality balls to Aguero and if any chances come along, they must be taken.
Thiago Silva is having maybe his best season yet and they are very strong in defence so they are a very good side.
As I say, PSG rarely have to defend for long periods because it hasn’t happened in the league all season so if City can attack and keep them under pressure, it will be interesting to see how they react because they aren’t used to it.
I have very fond memories of my time with City and PSG so it is a very special tie for me and I will be at both games in Paris and Manchester and I’m really looking forward to seeing some old friends when I return to the Etihad
