Joe Hart has shaken off the injury which kept him out of the win over Bournemouth, according to Manuel Pellegrini.

The England goalkeeper suffered the muscle injury in the Manchester derby and missed two England friendlies as a result but he will be back in contention for City’s crucial Champions League quarter final.

However, the news on Yaya Toure was less pleasing, as the City boss confirmed that the Ivorian will miss the first leg with a knee injury.

“Hart has worked without any problem in the last day,” Pellegrini told journalists at the Parc des Princes.

“He has had medical and physical tests and has no problems to play.

“Yaya has a problem with his knee so he is not able to play.”

PSG have been made favourites with the bookmakers to advance from this showdown but Manuel doesn’t see it that way.

Pellegrini rates City’s chances of qualifying for the last four as 50/50 and he will not be conservative in his approach in Paris.

The City boss said: “Both teams have options to continue to the next stage - the options are 50% for each team.

“It’s important for the club, the fans, the players. Last season we couldn’t continue as we faced Barcelona. Now we’ve improved this season. We know it’s a difficult game we face tomorrow but we believe we have a chance to continue.

“Kevin De Bruyne is always an important player for us. We are not coming to Paris to draw 0-0. We’ll play our usual way. Kevin is someone who has goals, so we’ll see if he’s able to play the full 90 minutes.”

Eliaquim Mangala was alongside his manager at the press conference and was asked if he feared the PSG frontline.

Eliaquim added: “I respect Ibrahimovic and Cavani but they don’t scare me.”
