It's all to play for in the Spanish capital next week - here's a few facts and figures to tide you over.

Where: Santiago Bernabeu stadium

When: Wednesday 4 May, 19:45 BST

TV coverage: BT Sport Europe in the UK, and on TV stations around the world.

Listen online: BBC Radio Manchester commentary streamed via the MCFC Matchday Centre.

What they said

Joe Hart: “We’ve set it up for a good, old-fashioned rumble in the Bernabeu and we’re ready for it.

“We are ready. We have a brilliant squad who are coming to fruition. Big game next week, simple as.”

Gareth Bale: ‘“I’ve also played against them before and they are a really strong team, but so are we. The semi-final is really nicely poised for the second leg.

“I definitely think we are more mature as a team now [than the one that won the Champions League in 2014]. We have more experience and that showed against City.”

City manager Manuel Pellegrini: “I don’t think Real are favourites to progress. We have the same options. They have the advantage of playing away first - they tried to manage the pace of the game - but we play the same way away as at home and we came away from Sevilla and PSG with good results.”

Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane: “We are not worried [about away goals],” he said. “The result is good. With those chances, it would’ve been better to score, but we are not concerned. The return game will be again 50-50.

“Nothing has changed. We will rest well. We have suffered, run a lot today, all of us, and it is a good result in the end.”

Spanish City

City have won twice in eight competitive matches in Spain down the years, but the brilliant performance in the 3-1 win over Sevilla in the group stage of this season’s Champions League gives plenty of hope.

The Blues’ away record in the 2015-16 Champions League is good - three wins, one draw and just the one defeat, to Juventus.

Permutations

A City win will, of course, put the Blues through to the final in Milan on 28 May, as will any kind of scoring draw on the away goals rule.

If it’s still 0-0 after 90 minutes, the game will go to extra time and if it remains goalless at the end of that, the tie will be settled by a penalty shoot-out.
