To say Sergio Aguero has hit the ground running in 2016/17 is a gross understatement.
In the first fortnight of his sixth season in Manchester, Sergio has scored six goals in just three games to help his side to their 100% start.
With 19 Premier League goals in 2016, more than any other player, Kun is a man in devastating form but he’s being pushed hard by the new man in the Etihad Stadium hot-seat.
Pep Guardiola is known throughout the game as a demanding taskmaster and even City’s talisman is expected to meeting his exacting standards, as Sergio revealed in the build-up to Sunday’s clash against West Ham.
”Pep has changed the way we have been playing in previous years,” Aguero explained.
“In my case, he’s very demanding of me. I need to be the player who starts the pressure and with my pressure the rest of the teammates will join me and keep up the pressure.
“I’m happy to do that. I need to keep improving even more. Also, to me his arrival is great because with his way of play I’ll have more chances to score and hopefully we will be able to win more games.
“I always respect the style of play every manager has. I try to adapt myself about what the manager wants as fast as possible.
“Pep has brought a way of play he has always used. We need to get used to it as soon as possible and I’m also enjoying the new concepts he’s teaching us. We need to keep working this way.”
West Ham have every reason to fear a man who’s has been directly involved in eight goals in his last seven Premier League matches against the Irons (six goals, two assists).
However, Aguero has fired out a warning about the trouble Slaven Bilic’s side can cause for the home team on Sunday, pointing to last season;
“It’s a difficult match because West Ham always put us in trouble,” Kun considered.
“They are always tough defensively - it won’t be easy but Guardiola is already working on planning the match and stopping them from hurting us.
“It’s going to be a good match but it won’t be easy.
“In the Premier League, any team can be your rival. Last season we expected other teams to be on top: Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal... and in the end it was Leicester City who won.
“Nothing is decided at the beginning of the season. It will start to be decided as of January/February when we will know who are the likely candidates to win the trophy.”
