Looking back through the events, signings and memorable matches that happened on this day in City's history...

1962

The first of four victories on this day in City history, Bolton were the opponents at Burnden Park in 1962 as the Blues picked up the victory thanks to goals from Joe Hayes and David Wagstaffe (pictured).

1979

City headed into the game having not won since 14 October 1978, a run of six draws and seven defeats.

However, that run ended at White Hart Line as City picked up the points with a 3-0 win after goals from Mike Channon, Brian Kidd (pictured) and Peter Barnes secured the victory.

1988

The only FA Cup game to be played on this day throughout City history, the Blues hosted Blackpool in a Fourth Round replay after the original game finished 1-1.

A crowd of 26,503 were in attendance at Maine Road to see the two Paul’s, Stewart (pictured) and Simpson, score to set up a Fifth Round tie against Plymouth Argyle.

1996

Alan Ball’s side were in action three days after Uwe Rosler scored in a 1-1 draw away at Southampton when they hosted QPR on 3 February 1996.

New signing Nigel Clough (pictured), who made his debut in the aforementioned game, was on target on his first appearance at Maine Road since joining from Liverpool, with Kit Symons scoring the other in a 2-0 win.

2013

Liverpool were the visitors to the Etihad in the Premier League on 3 February 2013. Edin Dzeko opened the scoring before former City striker Daniel Sturridge equalised six minutes later.

Steven Gerrard put Liverpool ahead with 17 minutes to play, but that goal was soon cancelled out when Sergio Aguero levelled in the 78th minute to ensure a second 2-2 draw between the two sides in the 2012/13 season.
