Garcia has impressed in both games he’s started this season and has been in our around the first team squad for most of the season.
The 19-year-old cites Silva as one of the main reasons he’s began the campaign so well.
“Silva is a very talented player and it’s always great to train with people like him because he makes you improve,” said Garcia.
“In pre-season he told me to stay calm and try to play simple and to make the team play - and I think I’m doing that, so I’m happy about. I get on with him very well because he’ a fantastic guy.
“But you learn from every player because all of them have more experience than I do.
“On a personal level I think I’m in a good moment. I’m confident and available for the manager and I think he is giving me plenty of chances to play, but it’s difficult to become a regular in this team because there are so many good players.
“Pep is helping me to improve tactically mainly. He played in the same position and he’s always advising me so I learn, and I do learn also from teammates. I will try to be regularly in the starting line up next season.
“I think I’m making the most out of the opportunities I’m having and hopefully I will have more before finally becoming a regular starter.”
Garcia’s starring roles against Swansea and United have ensured Garcia remains firmly in Guardiola’s plans.
“I always try to do my best,” he said. “I was lucky to do well against Swansea and United although we couldn’t win at Old Trafford Even though we’re not getting good results lately, the team is working well. We are optimistic and we think the good results will come.
“Last season was different because I had more time on the pitch with the EDS. I have come to Manchester to be in the first team. I’m very happy to be here and I’m enjoying every minute.”
Garcia is also hoping his form with City may lead to international recognition with Spain having represented every level up to the Under-19s.
“I’ve been lucky to be called up by the national team at every level but to be in the Under 21s is a bit tougher. I’m still 19 so I’ll keep working in order to be called up someday.
“I keep talking to Manu Garcia. He’s training hard and trying to get as many opportunities to play as he can.
“He’s now been called up by Spain Under-19s and I’m very happy for him. He’s a great player and I’m sure he will have his opportunity; he just has to keep working.”
