Kelechi Iheanacho, Olivier Ntcham and Leroy Sane are among the 40-stong list of players for the coveted prize that has been won by Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling and Mario Balotelli.
While Mario was a City player at the time, Sergio was with Atletico Madrid and Raheem was with Liverpool when they were named Golden Boy.
Sane’s displays for Schalke have earned him his first nomination and Ntcham, currently on loan with Genoa, has also impressed the panel.
Established in 2003 by top Italian newspaper Tuttosport, the award is for the best player in Europe under the age of 21 for the calendar year.
The votes are polled by journalists from all of Europe’s top newspapers and Manchester United’s Anthony Martial is the current holder of the title.
Tuttosport are also asking for fans to vote for their favourite.
