The Belgian knows Sunday’s game will be hard and could go either way, but says the Blues will go into the game feeling confident and focused.
City have won 16 of their 28 games on the road this season, scoring 58 goals – an average better than two goals every game, and De Bruyne is hoping that ratio continues at Wembley.
“It’s a semi-final and must be settled on the day so it is do or die,” said De Bruyne. “We’ve played well away from home, scored goals and hopefully we can play well, win this game, get to the final and end the season with a trophy.
“Arsenal are a very tough team. We only played them a few weeks ago and of course we ended up drawing 2-2 after leading twice so we perhaps should have gone on and won.
“They’ve had a difficult few weeks with results but they won at Middlesbrough on Monday and we know they will be up for this game as much as we are and I’m certain it will be a really good game between two teams who play good football.
“They’ve had a very good FA Cup record over the past few years but that doesn’t count for anything on Sunday.”
De Bruyne, who claimed another two assists in the 3-0 win at St Mary’s last Sunday says the team will want to carry on where they left off last weekend.
“We’re going into the game on the back of a really good performance at Southampton and we feel in good shape,” he said.
“We just want to end the season as strongly as we can in the FA Cup and in the Premier League because we still have a lot of work to do to secure a top four finish.
“We are doing everything we can, working hard and we’ll see what happens. We want to enjoy the occasion and play the way we know we can for our supporters and see where that takes us.”
