In an exclusive interview with CityTV in March, Guardiola revealed that director of football Txiki Begiristain was already looking for new players to bring in during the close season.
And now, ahead of City’s trip to Chelsea on Wednesday, he has once again stated his desire to see arrivals that will bolster his options ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.
But although he says the Club will be active in the summer, he also challenged his existing players to deliver high-quality performances between now and the end of the season to ensure they remain part of his plans.

“We will think about it,” he said. “Of course, we discuss with the chairman (Khaldoon Al Mubarak), Txiki, all the bosses
“Every club wants to improve and, of course, changes are necessary but we are going to discuss about that definitely at the end of the season.
“It depends on the result of the players.
“At the end, the players decide for themselves through their performances on the pitch.”

The trip to Chelsea on Wednesday sees City go up against the Premier League leaders, who have established a seven-point lead over second-place Tottenham, putting them firmly in control of the title race.
Asked whether the game will tell him where his side are in terms of their development, Guardiola says he already knows the strengths and weaknesses of his squad – but admits a game against a team as strong as Chelsea is a good test for his players.
“I know now where we are, the good things and where we must improve,” he said. “But tomorrow will be a big test, a big stadium and away from home - but it is important to play these games to learn for the future.”
