Manchester City kick off their Champions League campaign against Feyenoord on 13 September, which means a trip to Rotterdam beckons for the Blues.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst – The former Arsenal and Barcelona man is in his first managerial role at the side where his playing career began. A Champions League winner as a player, he guided Feyenoord to the Dutch league title last season and the Dutch Cup in 2015/16.

Paul Bosvelt swapped Rotterdam for Manchester in 2003 and spent two seasons with the Blues, turning out more than 50 times.

Before departing for Celta Vigo, John Guidetti spent a season on loan at De Kuip, netting 20 goals in 23 league appearances.

The game kicks off at 7.45pm (BST) on Wednesday 13 September at the Stadion Feijenoord, more commonly known as De Kuip.

Where is De Kuip?

Located a few hundred metres away from the south bank of the River Meuse, De Kuip is around 4.5 kilometres from Rotterdam city centre and more than 5.5 kilometres from the central rail station.

What’s the stadium like?

Opened in 1937 and renovated in 1994, De Kuip is open air stadium with a capacity of 51, 177.

It has hosted 10 European finals, including the 2000 European Championship showpiece game. The Rotterdam Stadium has also been utilised as one of the Netherlands national team’s home venues.

The city is served by the The Hague Airport and once there you can take the train or the tram to the stadium, from Rotterdam Central Station.
