The Blues take on the Terriers on at 3pm on Saturday 18 February and here’s a handy guide to one of recent times’ less-frequented away days…

We advise fans not to take any bags unless essential. Bags will be searched, in accordance with visiting supporter stand security procedures, which may cause a delay in entering the stadium.
Getting there
By car
Exit the M62 at junction 24 and follow signs for Huddersfield Town Centre (A629). After approximately two miles, follow the signs for the stadium turning left onto Castlegate ring road. Turn left onto Leeds Road (A62), then follow the official car park signs.
There are external car parks around the area of the Stadium, which can be used subject to availability and are situated on St Andrews Road, Gasworks Street and Bradley Mills Road.
By train
There are four direct trains an hour running from Manchester Piccadilly to Huddersfield Station at the following minutes past the hour:
- 11 (Duration: 34 mins)
- 26 (Duration 28 mins)
- 41 (Duration: 31 mins)
- 57 (Duration 29 mins)
From Manchester Victoria there are two direct trains an hour, leaving at the following minutes past the hour:
- 51 (Duration: 29 mins)
- 57 (Duration: 45 mins)
Deighton train station is another local station which is roughly a 20 minute walk along Leeds Road.

From the Station to the John Smith’s Stadium
Huddersfield Railway Station is approximately half a mile from the Stadium. You can take a bus or taxi from outside the station or you can follow the signed pedestrian route to the Stadium via Northumberland Street, which should take you around 15 minutes.
By bus
You can take one of four bus services from Huddersfield Railway Station, all of which drop you on Leeds Road, which is less than a 10 minute walk to the John Smith’s Stadium.
Head to St George’s Square Stop 4, which is just outside the Station and take services 202, 203, 220 or 229 to the ground. The journey is approximately 12 minutes.
As always supporters are advised to always allow extra time to travel on a matchday and plan ahead.
In the ground
For those of you who want some pre-match or half time refreshments, here’s a list of what’s on offer from the Terriers:
- Pie - £3.20
- Cup of tea - £2
- Meal Deal pie and soft drink - £5
- Pint - £3.90
- Pie and a pint - £6.50
And you can get your hands on the matchday programme for £3.
Ticket collections
If you have arranged duplicate tickets, you can collect these at the Stadium from 1pm on matchday
Tickets will be available from the Ticket Office adjacent to the main reception and you will need to provide photographic ID in order to collect the ticket.
Supporters are advised to collect their tickets at least 60 minutes before kick-off in order to pass through security checks and enter the stadium in time.
Accessibility
Call the Disability Liaison Team at Huddersfield to discuss accessibility parking. They can be contacted on 01484 484 123.
Ambulant supporters with General Allocation seats are advised the entrance points from the concourse are located at the top of the stand with steps leading down.

Official match ticket
The barcode on your ticket will be scanned by the turnstile operator as you enter the ground. There is a map of the stadium and surrounding area printed on the back of the ticket.

Weather
We’re reliably informed by the Met Office that a bright start to this FA Cup day will give way to cloud and possible outbreaks of rain.
Temperature at kick off is expected to be 11 degrees Celsius and with a chance of rain and a breeze, have your coats at the ready!
Getting home
For the return leg of the journey, there are again four direct trains an hour back to Manchester Piccadilly, departing Huddersfield at the following minutes past the hour:
- 11 (Duration: 35 mins)
- 30 (Duration: 35 mins)
- 40 (Duration: 37 mins)
- 57 (Duration: 36 mins)
If you’re heading back to Manchester Victoria, you can get one of three direct trains every 60 minutes, leaving at the following times past the hour:
- 2 (Duration: 31 mins)
- 15 (Duration: 52 mins)
- 45 (Duration: 45 mins)
