Finding a way to stop marauding full-backs Danny Rose and Kyle Walker will be high on City’s list and maybe lifting the ball over the Tottenham midfield to get at the back three may be an option.
Moussa Dembele, Victor Wanyama, Eric Dier, Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli make for a powerful midfield and it was where Spurs dominated in the first meeting between the clubs back in October.
In-form Spurs
Spurs have won seven on the bounce in the Premier League (6) and FA Cup (1) and have won their last two league games 4-1 away from home - but after beating City 2-0 earlier in the campaign they went on a run of eight games without a win on the road in all competitions – four wins and four draws – so they are not quite as devastating away from White Hart Lane. That should encourage the Blues.
Fox in the box
With 58 of 62 goals scored in the box, City must keep Harry Kane as far from goal as possible.
Stemming the supply line of Eriksen would hurt both Kane and Alli who have profited from the Dane’s excellent deliveries this season.
In fact, Spurs’ last 10 goals have been scored by Kane and Alli so the Blues must find a way to disrupt the pair who have also developed a devastating understanding.
