Kompany will slot straight in at centre-back as a replacement for the suspended Nicolas Otamendi, who picked up his fifth yellow against Arsenal last time out.

The last time Kompany featured for City was the 2-1 win at Bournemouth on 26 August, but having trained during the international break, boss Pep Guardiola welcomes his captain back at the King Power Stadium.

Fabian Delph, meanwhile, has recovered from a muscle problem in time to feature at left-back, while Fernandinho starts in defensive midfield for his 200th City appearance.

Elsewhere in midfield, play-makers Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva will be flanked by Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling, the latter shrugging off a back injury.

The second change comes by way of Gabriel Jesus, who starts up front, with Sergio Aguero on the bench.

Leicester: Schmeichel, Simpson, Morgan (c), Maguire, Fuchs, Ndidi, Iborra, Gray, Albrighton, Mahrez, Vardy.

Subs: Chilwell, Iheanacho, King, Dragović, Slimani, Okazaki, Hamer.
