What a season it's been so far for Manchester City.

17 games, 16 wins and one draw. 52 goals scored. The best start to a Premier League season by any side. A new all-time leading goalscorer. A new Club record for consecutive wins.

It seems there’s been a new milestone every week.

Here, our writers have had their say on City’s best performance of the season so far.

Paul Handler: City 7-2 Stoke

The magnificent seven against Stoke is still the best so far for me. The amount and the quality of goals had the home faithful floating out of the Etihad Stadium.

Superb team moves, individual skill, Fernandinho’s rocket, and all of it embroidered by Kevin De Bruyne’s brilliance.

A ‘pinch yourself’ moment, especially for fans of a certain vintage!

Rob Pollard: Chelsea 0-1 City

The scoreline flattered Chelsea. City were totally dominant, delivering one of the most complete performances in recent Premier League history. Rarely has a game between two of the league’s top four sides been so one-sided.

City moved the ball quickly and with purpose from the off, and Chelsea couldn’t live with it. The home side were limited to just 38 per cent possession, with City completely dominating the game.

De Bruyne’s winner was brilliant and a fitting way to cap one of the best performances we’ve seen from City in a long time.

John Edwards: Napoli 2-4 City

When two sides high in confidence play with a verve befitting of the attacking talent at their disposal, the football can be breath-taking.

That was the case in Naples and the home side deserve credit for the part they played, but what a performance it was from City.

Napoli were on top in the opening period and their brand of high-tempo, incisive attacking play challenged the Blues, but they showed resolve to come through that test and responded well to going a goal down.

And with the scores level, Pep Guardiola’s men gained a foothold in the game and not only matched one of Europe’s most exciting offensive teams, but went on to outplay them in the latter stages.

At the back and going forward, City impressed in a performance and game which had everything.
