It’s fair to say Ederson couldn’t have started life with City much better.

The 24-year-old goalkeeper arrived at the Etihad as a relatively unknown quantity, but it hasn’t taken long for City fans to understand why Pep Guardiola was so keen to bring him to Manchester.

Assured handling and the ability to read danger long before it materialises, Ederson has quickly become a big favourite among City fans and has conceded just two goals from his first seven Premier League games, plus two more clean sheets in the Champions League – impressive stuff.

Our stats graph back up his solid start to the campaign and it will be his nine sweeper clearances that the City boss will be particularly pleased with, not to mention his 29 accurate long balls and 40 throw outs.
