David Silva says City will be going for broke against Liverpool on Tuesday evening.

The Blues trail 3-0 from the first leg at Anfield and have largely been written off in the media, but Silva says the tie is far from over, especially with home advantage.

“We’ve had a great season and we always create a lot of opportunities and chances,” said Silva.

“Above all we are playing at home. One thing I can assure our fans of is that we will be giving 100% on Tuesday evening and we are confident we can turn this game around and progress to the semi-finals.”

Reflecting on the first leg loss, Silva says going 2-0 behind with just 20 minutes played made the game difficult to salvage.

“It was a very difficult game, but in fairness, I thought we started really well,” he said.

“Then they hit us with two quick goals and at a ground like Anfield, you are always going to be up against it after that.

“We had a lot of the ball after the break but couldn’t convert any of the chances we had.”

The Blues’ playmaker also says he believes he is possibly playing the best football of his career this campaign.

With nine goals from his 36 matches plus 11 Premier League assists, the Spaniard has been integral to everything City have achieved this season.

“My levels of consistency have probably been the best since I arrived at City and when you think that a lot of other players in the squad are having their best seasons as well and that is part of the reason we are doing so well this year.

“Now our focus is on Liverpool and with our fans behind us, we are confident.”
