Golden Silva
David Silva, olé!
It’s common knowledge that our mercurial maestro has never received the acclaim he deserves.
While his outstanding ability and skill are widely recognised, the Spaniard has never been truly rewarded for his influence in terms of accolades or awards – but perhaps, that may be about to change.
Discussing El Mago on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football show, Jamie Carragher tipped Silva to be named the Premier League Player of the Year; also hailing the playmaker as one of the division’s ‘Players of the Decade’.
Read his examination of Silva’s genius and the importance he holds to City’s title credentials.
Here’s to you, Vincent Kompany
A heartfelt tribute from one City legend to another, as Paul Dickov congratulated skipper Vincent Kompany on an outstanding ten years of service at the Club.
We couldn’t have put it better ourselves!
Congratulations to the absolute gentleman that is @VincentKompany on a decade @ManCity A truly inspirational skipper, a leader on & off the pitch & one of the nicest guys you could ever meet 💙 #Kompany10 💙

Captain Fantastic
The skipper also took to social media to express his thoughts on his astonishing decade, in which he lifted nine trophies and created countless special memories.
His summary brought a tear to our eyes. WHAT A MAN.
Golden anniversary
Another ten-year landmark: this one for Argentina’s national team, who are celebrating the anniversary of their famous Olympic Games triumph over Nigeria.
Pablo Zabaleta (with hair!) and a young Sergio Aguero were in that starting XI, and claimed a gold medal in Beijing with a 1-0 victory…

Packing a punch!
Our women’s team tried their hand at another sport on Thursday - quite literally.
Nick Cushing’s side visited the Hatton Gym for a boxing session with professional boxer Stacey Copeland.
Thankfully, there were no TKOs but our poor CityTV presenter Kelly O’Donnell took a blow to the face, courtesy of Karen Bardsley and ended up bleeding!
If you’re not squeamish, view more on Man City‘s Instagram Story.
Brilliant morning doing a boxing session for the @ManCityWomen team at @HattonGym Absolute pleasure to meet this group of fantastic players who are such great role models & inspiring a generation 👌🏽⚽️ (So glad that Ruby, Phoebe & Emily got to meet them too!!) 😊 #PaveTheWay pic.twitter.com/SBVhKyNZKM

Lion dancing
Apparently, having ‘that World Cup semi-final feeling’ entails breaking out into a well-choreographed dance routine during training.
Personally, I’m feeling that vibe and in my opinion, it should be applied to any situation. Won a fiver on a scratchcard? Dance. Someone else offered to do the office brew run? Dance. Bagged a great parking space? Dance.
It was definitely worth swiping to the end.
Stanway to Heaven
City star Georgia Stanway proved England’s heroine in the quarter-finals, bagging both goals in a 2-1 triumph over the Netherlands to send the young Lionesses into the last four for the first time in their history.
As if that wasn’t enough cause for celebration, FIFA then fashioned the headline ‘Stanway to Heaven’ in their report and let’s be honest, that is just so good.
*claps*
England would be knocked out by Japan in the semis but Mo Marley’s side have the chance to return home with a bronze medal from Friday’s third-place play-off game against France.
I’ll sing the Blues, if I want
To quote a proper Manc term, this pic of Noel Gallagher – shot by former City Club Photographer Sharon Latham – is MINT.
In preparation for his tour in Japan, the Rock’n’Roll Star took with him one or two home comforts, including a huge City flag to adorn his dressing room.
Super-sonic.
Summersonic in Japan was amazing this is a bts shot from the dressing room last night. More gig shots to follow on @NoelGallagher official channels. pic.twitter.com/HXwC2xwXoC

Tos-in the back of the net (Sorry…)
The weekend proved pretty decent for our on-loan defender Tosin Adarabioyo, as both City and his current club West Brom registered impressive victories.
More of the same throughout the season...?
Massive wins for both @WBA and @ManCity this weekend! Love that! 🙌🏾 pic.twitter.com/rizf8ESSip

Now for the real test
This is a really cool piece of content with Melbourne City and Etihad Airways, in which the Australian side’s new kit is ‘put to the test’ with a series of challenges in Abu Dhabi.
The three tests include testing the ‘jersey’s performance at speed, in water and under pressure in different locations and activities: the world’s fastest rollercoaster at Ferarri World Abu Dhabi, the Extreme Hydro-Slide Waterpark at Yas Waterworld, and dune bashing and surfing at the Hala Oasis and Etihad Experience.
I volunteer to be part of this content piece if they plan to do the same with City!
@MelbourneCity wanted to put their new playing jersey to the test. So we invited them to Abu Dhabi for the ultimate challenge! pic.twitter.com/uk8o8CXT2s

Demolition Derby
There are few fixtures as hotly-contested as a derby. With emotions running high and pride on the line, the stakes are higher than ever – and the New York derby between City and the Red Bulls proved a tasty affair.
In a fiercely competitive encounter, NYCFC had two men sent off but managed to salvage an admirable draw, courtesy of David Villa’s strike.
Interestingly, former Blue Bradley Wright-Phillips, who became the fastest player in Major League Soccer history to reach 100 goals in July, opened the scoring.

The Lawnmower
‘Oh, when De Jong goes sliding in…’
Nigel De Jong will forever remain a cult hero in the eyes of the City faithful.
The Dutch enforcer quickly became a crowd favourite at the Etihad Stadium, and if you were there when he scored against West Ham, you can proudly boast the fact you witnessed a piece of history.
He hit the headlines this week, as Four Four Two conducted a ‘Big Interview’ with the midfielder, in which he recollects his time at City fondly.
An Edin in Roma
Edin Dzeko continues to tear up the Italian league and he bagged another worldie for Roma, volleying in a delightful effort into the far corner late on against Torino.
As a result, the ‘I Giallorossi’ compiled a video package of his best left-footed goals. Not bad at all!
And @EdDzeko isn’t even left-footed... 😱 pic.twitter.com/7aJXuAi2Bu

Stay strong, Appie
There was some brilliant news in the footballing family, as youngster Appie Nouri, who has been in a coma for more than a year, woke up and started to communicate with his family.
The youngster collapsed in a pre-season friendly with Werder Bremen in July 2017 and was immediately treated by paramedics before being airlifted to hospital.
New City signing Philippe Sandler is one of several ex-Ajax youngsters to select the number 34 shirt in tribute to Nouri.
Free-kick fail
For all of football’s glorious, unforgettable moments, there are so many which are thoroughly forgettable and guilty of generating false hope.
In the category of wasteful and frustrating moments, there’s nothing quite like a team readying themselves for a ‘this-looks-like-something-they’ve-practiced-on-the-training-ground’ free-kick.
This one was certainly inventive… but sadly, it didn’t quite have the desired effect.
