City make two changes for tonight's game against Arsenal.

Ederson replaces Claudio Bravo while Bernardo Silva comes in for the injured Fernandinho.

Fabian Delph is still suspended and Raheem Sterling remains sidelined.

City starting XI and bench:

Ederson, Walker, Kompany, Otamendi, Danilo, De Bruyne, Gundogan, D Silva, Sane, Aguero, Bernardo

Subs: Bravo, Zinchenko, Laporte, G Jesus, Stones, Yaya Toure, Foden

Possible tactics:

City may have to weather the storm on and off the pitch in North London this evening.

With temperatures set to hover around freezing and snow forecast, the Gunners’ under-soil heating will be working overtime, but of course there is a crucial game taking place on the pitch.

The Gunners are likely to be charged up for this game, keen to avenge Sunday’s poor showing in the Carabao Cup final.

Ravaged by the press and their own fans, the hosts will have a point to prove against the Blues and are likely to race out of the blocks and look to unsettle City’s defensive lines with a high press.

The Blues need to see out the initial pressure but the loss of Fernandinho makes the task harder - Kevin De Bruyne or - more likely - Ilkay Gundogan could fill the Brazilian’s boots this evening, though we may not know until the game begins.

Possible milestones and stats:

City will look to improve on a poor record in the top flight against the Gunners with just one league win in 42 years which equates to 32 games, 20 losses and 11 draws - ouch!

Sergio Aguero is one goal away from reaching his double century for the Blues - if he scores this evening it will be his sixth in succession against Arsenal.

Victory this evening would mean a first league double since the 1975/76 campaign.

The Gunners have failed to keep a clean sheet for the past nine Premier League games.
