The Premier League champions were greeted by an estimated 100,000 Blues who had waited hours for Pep Guardiola and his record-breaking team.
Three buses made their way along Deansgate with flags flying and smoke from blue flares filling as City fans paid tribute to the team that has swept all before them this campaign.
The front bus had the players, the second had the coaching staff and the third was full of City supporters enjoying an unforgettable experience.
Under blues skies and warm Manchester sunshine, the players then made their way to a stage on Deansgate to be introduced by Sky Sports’ host Mike Wedderburn.
Pep Guardiola and his staff were first on stage and he told the adoring masses that he ‘could feel the love’ and promised his team would return next year with something – “I don’t know what, but we will be here,” said the boss.
Here’s what some of the players had to say as they were introduced…
VINCENT KOMPANY: “It’s brilliant, amazing. Here we are again! The fans have turned out in numbers and this team behind me is unbelievable. We’ve been able to win it with four weeks left. This team is easy to captain - these guys are hungry and want to win trophies and train hard. Every now and then, I have to be the grumpy dad but overall, it’s easy!
“In pre-season, we’ll come back, work and try to make this team better. That’s what’s going to happen from July onwards.”
DAVID SILVA: “I would like to thank the players, fans, staff and the manager. It has been a tough year for me. I would also like to thank Yaya Toure: I told you the other day - it’s been a pleasure to play with you. I can say to my son: I played with the best African footballer ever. I wish you the best of luck.
“Everyone, enjoy tonight - you deserve it. To my teammates, I want to wish the best of luck for the World Cup. See you there!”
BERNARDO SILVA: “It means a lot. Personally, it’s my first season here. It’s amazing to be part of this fantastic team. Thank you all. Lifting the title was my special moment - even though I was in my pyjamas at home when we won it!”
