GARETH TAYLOR PREVIEW

On Ipswich he said: “They’re the top team in the third tier.

“I have watched numerous games from them and saw them play against Bournemouth which was fairly tight in terms of the 1-0 scoreline.

“We won’t underestimate any team we play. The FA Cup is a magical competition and anyone who has won has won it, whether player or coach, has really cherished those moments.

“Even in this period of so much change the FA Cup has really retained its magic. When I was growing up, the FA Cup final was the biggest game of the season and the only one televised.”

LAST TIME OUT

City closed 2024 with a 3-0 defeat to Barcelona in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Taylor’s threadbare side defended heroically during the first half, but the hosts took the lead on the cusp of the interval through Claudia Pina.

Aitana Bonmati and Alexia Putellas then both found the net during the second half.

      PREVIOUS MEETING

We last met Ipswich in an FA Cup fifth round tie in February 2020 where we recorded an emphatic 10-0 win at the Joie Stadium.

Laura Coombs opened the scoring before Pauline Bremer, Jess Park and Georgia Stanway each scored hat-tricks as we secured passage into Round Six en route to winning the trophy.
