Formation

Young goalkeeper Aro Muric starts in goal for the first time at the Etihad – Claudio Bravo remains a long-term absentee with an Achilles injury – behind a back four of skipper Vincent Kompany, Danilo, Oleks Zinchenko and John Stones. Stones is the one player to keep his place from the win over Spurs on Monday night.

Kevin De Bruyne, Fabian Delph and youngster Phil Foden make up a powerful-looking midfield trio, with the latter no doubt desperate to impress again on the stage of his boyhood heroes.

Young Spanish ace Brahim Diaz has an opportunity on the right flank, along with left winger Leroy Sane and striker Gabriel Jesus, as the Blues look to set up a quarter-final clash with either Southampton or Leicester.

As might be expected City’s bench contains an array of talent, including young French midfielder Claudio Gomes, who will be looking to make his first senior City appearance since the Community Shield final.
