Now in his third season at the helm at the Etihad, Guardiola’s side have produced some of the most sublime football the English game has seen during the past 18 months.
Having rewritten the Premier League record books last term, becoming the first side to amass 100 points in a season, the Blues will go into tomorrow’s eagerly-awaited clash at home to Manchester United two points clear at the top of the table and in a rich vein of form.
And as he looked ahead to the game, Pep revealed he now felt much more at ease watching his team, especially given the expansive and entertaining way City are playing.

“All the managers when you play poor and win, you are happy for ten minutes but after 11 minutes, you realise you are not going to go far that far,” said Guardiola.
“Now we are winning you have the feeling people feel comfortable in the way that we play.
“That doesn’t mean we are going to win tomorrow or against West Ham or in Lyon. When you guess a game and it happens, it works.
“In the last three or four games, everybody has played, and the team was stable.
“When you have that feeling, you know what you have to do.
“That doesn’t mean United cannot (hurt) us.
“Still we can improve. The team is quite solid from the past month, month and a half. Now we have to try again and again to do good things.”
The Catalan also believes that City’s hugely impressive form over the past 18 months have partly been as a direct result of the time he was given to implement his philosophy at the club.
And Pep feels that our excellent results demonstrate that the players have taken on board his ideas – and are also able to learn from any disappointments

“All managers need time. We are better than the first year but that is normal - the club had to learn,” Guardiola added.
“We have the feeling - all of us - and that’s a good thing.
“Losing - for example, losing 3-2 v United, the disappointment (is not a bad thing).
“We didn’t have too many regrets about the way we played. We played quite well.”
