Sergio Aguero saw off the challenge of Gabriel Jesus to just edge the January Etihad Player of the Month award.

Aguero started and finished the month strongly and clearly did enough for the thousands of voters who helped him pull clear of striker partner Gabriel Jesus who also polled a huge vote count.

Jesus scored eight goals in total in January including one against Rotherham, four against Burton, two against Wolves and another against Burnley.

Sergio bagged a vital goal against Liverpool before scoring in each of the last three games of the month against Burton, Burnley and Newcastle United.
