The Blues won the trophy for the fifth time in the Club’s history with a 3-0 win over Arsenal in the Final at Wembley in February.
And Foden says it was a huge confidence boost for City that helped the Club achieve a record 100 points en route to the Premier League title.
“It’s a massive confidence boost for the whole squad,” he said. “You could tell last year the celebrations when we won…we were all buzzing and over the moon with it and that helped us with the rest of the season.
“Hopefully we can repeat it this year because it’s a special cup and any cup win leaves everyone buzzing.
“We’re gonna try and do the same as last year.”

City have made it through to the semi-finals again this season, with the first leg against Burton Albion set to take place at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday.
It’s the first time Burton have reached this stage of the competition – and the first time a third-tier club has done so since Sheffield United in 2014-15.
Foden, who scored his first senior goal at the Etihad on Sunday in the win over Rotherham, says City need to be on their game when Nigel Clough’s side arrive at the Etihad on Wednesday but admits the fact the semi-final is a two-legged affair suits the Blues.
“Yeah, it’s usual and they will come with their sleeves rolled up,” he said.
“We have to be prepared. We need to focus on our own game and hopefully we can get the job done.
“If there’s one game, there’s a lot riding on it and nerves can kick in if it’s 0-0 in the 80th minute.
“To have two legs, it’s better, you can relax more and play your own game. I think it’s better for us to have two games.
“There’s gonna be some tired legs because every three days we’re travelling and playing.
“But we’ve got more than enough players in the squad to push us and rotate and everyone’s ready.
“There’ll be some tired minds and players will need rest in the coming weeks. Everyone has to be ready to play.”
One of the 18-year-old’s finest performances for City came in the Community Shield victory over Chelsea back in May.
The expansive Wembley pitch appeared to suit Foden, a player who likes to ghost into pockets of space and use his range of passing to open up the opposition.
He says he loved the experience and wants another chance to play there this season.
“It feels a lot bigger than normal pitches,” he said. “I don’t know if it’s because it’s a massive stadium but, yeah, I loved playing at Wembley.
“It was a dream come true and hopefully I’ll be playing on it again and try and get on the ball.”
And ahead of the Burton game, Foden says the mood in the squad is superb after the win over Liverpool on Thursday, a result that slashed the Merseysider’s lead at the top of the Premier League table to four points.
“You can tell everyone really wanted to win this game,” he said.
“We needed it. If they’d won it would have been a bit too far away to catch them.
“It felt like do or die. But we won and we’re stronger than ever and we’re gonna fight to the end.”
