City will take on Premier League rivals West Ham United in Nanjing tomorrow in our opening Premier League Asia Trophy fixture. (1.30pm BST).
Bernardo and his colleagues, of course, created history last season with City becoming the first English club to achieve the clean sweep by securing all four English trophies.
But asked about City’s targets for the new season, the Portuguese midfielder said the hunger and desire within the squad to achieve yet more success was greater than ever.

“We want to try to do even better,” said Bernardo.
“Mostly it’s a young team and two years ago 90 per cent of players had never won the Premier League.
“So, we need titles in our career, and we are still hungry. We are not happy yet and we want to go for more.
“The standards of this team are high, but this team wants to go forward in all competitions knowing that it’s difficult season after season, but we’ll try to do it again.”
Following the squad’s arrival in China, City kick-off our Asia Tour with that opening Premier League Asia Trophy clash against Manuel Pellegrini’s West Ham.
Manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed that our new summer signings Rodri and Angelino will both play against the Hammers.
And Bernardo believes the Nanjing fixture will provide the perfect platform for the players in terms of stepping up the squad’s readiness ahead of the new season.
“It’s our first game and we want to try and find the best physical condition and that’s our priority,” Bernardo added.
“It’s a team we know well as we play against them every season at least twice. We want to win and play well and prepare well for the season.
“The most important thing is to try and gain the best physical condition, but this team always plays to win and that’s what we will try to do tomorrow.

“We will train well, look to score and not to concede and try to win the trophy.”
City are, of course, no strangers to China, as we visited the country on our pre-season tour in the summer of 2016 but it’s the first time Bernardo has experienced life in the country.
And he admits he is hugely excited at having arrived and is eager to soak up the experience and atmosphere with City visiting both Shanghai and Nanjing before then heading on to Hong Kong and Japan.
“It’s the first time personally I have been in China and I’m very happy to be here,” Bernardo added.
“I’m very excited and looking forward to seeing how it is here and in Hong Kong and then Japan.
“I have big expectations. The people look great coming here to help us and support us and now it is time to prepare for the games and the season.
“We are very happy to be here, and we hope that we can give them (our Chinese supporters) the best football we can and to make them happy.”
