Manchester City's Phil Foden has been named in the England Under-21 squad for next month’s Euro 2019 tournament which takes place in Italy and San Marino

Foden’s selection caps a memorable campaign for the 18-year-old following City’s unprecedented clean sweep of all four domestic English trophies.

A World Cup winner at Under-17 level with England in 2017, Foden earned his first call-up for the Under-21s last October and has cemented himself as a key member of Aidy Boothroyd’s squad.

Former City goalkeeper Angus Gunn – now at Southampton – has also been named in the 23-man squad.

“This is a really strong squad,” said Boothroyd. ”I’m really pleased with the group of players who will be representing us at the Euros.
