Four days after his dramatic late winner at home to Southampton, Walker was again the centre of attention at the San Siro.
He was summoned off the bench as a goalkeeper after Claudio Bravo – on as half-time substitute for the injured Ederson – was sent off with nine minutes left.
The England full-back was immediately called into action, diving to save a free-kick and then kept his cool and composure to help 10-man City see out time and move another step closer towards sealing our place in the last 16 knockout stages.
“Did I volunteer to go in goal? I think it was a bit of both,” Walker revealed after the game.

“I try and sometimes banter the keepers in training, telling them to catch it and stuff.
“But, as I found tonight, you sometimes have to take two touches!
“All jokes aside we came here for a point or victory.
“They are a good team; they play man to man and are in the Champions League for a reason so to come away from here with a draw with how the game ended is a good point.
“And we’ll take that on.”
After rest and recovery, the focus will now switch to Sunday’s key Premier League game away at Liverpool.
And Walker said the trip to Anfield was an occasion all the players were looking forward to.
“Listen both teams are good teams,” Walker added. “We take one game at a time and now the focus is for Liverpool.
“We’ll get the recovery in and then look forward to an exciting game.”
